Hiker's cabin - 2 persons

The DJ was great, and there was a nice atmosphere on the lighthouse beach during the solar eclipse. There were some surprising elements in the landscape. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of room for improvement in terms of service. I had specifically contacted Kallumaan to arrange for the delivery of a waterproofing agent. I was told that delivery to … the front desk wouldn’t be a problem at all. The package was delivered by PostNL but to a vacation home. Once on site, it turned out that PostNL’s delivery of packages at the campground wasn’t properly organized. Upon inquiry, it turned out that PostNL regularly delivers packages to vacation homes at the front of the street. This turned out to be the case for another package I’d had delivered to the campground based on the information I’d received beforehand. When I went to check the street, I found that there were no clear signs for delivery services—something that’s, of course, easy to fix. However, my suggestions for improving the guest experience through clearer signage for delivery drivers were met with sarcasm: “We’re not cut out to be a package delivery service.” Apparently, they believe guests should handle this themselves and don’t want to provide this service to guests, even though I had specifically called about it. As a former service professional, I personally consider this a missed opportunity to provide guests with a good stay. Furthermore, communication with guests is therefore disorganized, and they didn’t even admit it. The package containing the waterproofing agent never turned up. Starting with the third package, I had it delivered to a nearby pickup point. It’s a shame they’d said beforehand that delivery wouldn’t be a problem. I had called specifically to confirm this.

Regarding the ice packs as well, different service staff used different standards. For example, one person had no problem with me putting the ice packs in the freezer, while another directed me to a spot farther away from my campsite. When I later tried the cooler that was farther away—since it was always open—it turned out the cooler wasn’t working properly. The ice packs still hadn’t frozen after 16 hours. Read more Show less

The lodges were expensive, so we thought we’d get our money’s worth, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. A sink with a faucet is really a must-have. The restroom building and water station were a long walk away. It was a rainy weekend, so we’d been looking forward to the promised indoor activities. Unfortunately, they were all canceled. It was really lousy. Personally, I even feel a little ripped off.

We got married here last year, and now, a year later, we've come back to celebrate our cotton anniversary. What a fantastic place! It's perfect for both a wedding and a vacation. We really enjoyed both visits (in completely different ways)!
